I’m having Eclare issues now because I can’t stop thinking about what Eli would have said to Clare about sex. And like, how he would have handled it easily because he understands her mind. He’d say that they should wait until she’s 100% sure and not needing a magazine. Fuck the magazine. He would have taken it from her and put it down on the table and held her and talked to her about how much it’ll mean when they’re ready and comfortable and how special it will be because it’ll be on their own time. He’d say she doesn’t need to rush it or even bring up a discussion about it because he’s fine to wait until whenever. And he would mean it. He wouldn’t say he understands she wants to wait and then talk about it later. He wouldn’t be the one to bring it up. He would just watch her read and occupy himself on his laptop. He wouldn’t be suggestive. He wouldn’t make her stop reading. Eli would be himself and he would just let her be herself.

And now I’m crying. Thank God Cake is almost over. Thank God.
